This series was inspired by studying the color composition of turquoise found in Nature. Multiple techniques are used to make these solid glass sculptures. While the process in making these works are similar, the patterns achieved both below and on the surface, are one of a kind.
Spun Gold Aventurine, Deep Blue, and effervescent bubbles all swirled together inside a one of a kind exterior shape. Shaping of the exterior surfaces are done exclusively with heat, gravity, and air. Transmission of light through each piece and how it bounces off the surface, dazzle the senses with every turn.
Warm Layers of spun Gold Aventurine, Brilliant Yellow, and Orange all swirled together inside a one of a kind exterior shape. Shaping of the exterior surfaces are done exclusively with heat, gravity, and air. Transmission of light through each piece and how it bounces off the surface, excite the senses with every turn.
This Series investigates the primal nature of volcanic magma flows. Each solid sculpture has multiple layers of red, orange and yellow folded into its core. Black glass on the surface, adds to the flowing movement.
The turbulent waters of the ocean are captured and frozen in place in this series. Grains of Capri Blue and Caribbean Flash glass are layered and spun into filaments of deep color. Bubble inclusions are intentional and add to the dynamic movement of each unique work. Shaping of the exterior surfaces are done exclusively with heat, gravity, and air. Transmission of light through each piece and how it bounces off the surface, excite the senses with every turn.
Shimmering cool blue waters forever frozen in time. This series is a culmination of many techniques. Layer upon layer, patterns and shapes are purposely designed to produce a unique visual experience. When the sculpture is turned, the distortions you see within, invite the viewer to look deeper. Using your imagination similar to how one sees cloud formations, a face, an unusual shape or exotic animal may appear.
This series pushes the boundaries of what can be done with color. Glass dots are transformed into streams of color erupting from within the sculptures central core. The exterior surface creates a unique visual effect bending light and color similar to a carnival funhouse mirror. Each work is one of a kind.
An exploration of patterns in stone formation. All that you see in these sculptures are entirely composed of glass. A veil of glass shrouds the stone within. It provides magnification and casts rays of light to dance across its surface.
Born from a recycled glass casting bucket, these otherworldly sculptures mimic the appearance of natural crystal formations. An iridescent coating on the surface allows the sculptures to simultaneously absorb and reflect light giving each sculpture a unique aura pulsing with life.
This series is all about the alchemy of glass. All color in glass is derived from metallic elements in nature. Cobalt for blue, iron for green etc.... Sometimes when a specific color is exposed to intense heat beyond its intended working parameters, the inherent metal oxides are reduced to their original form. The color wrapped around the vessel transforms into gold and silver threads. Paired with an intense base color, it all culminates into a mystifying experience to behold.
